Job Description

Job Title: Coach Mechanic / PSV MechanicLocation: WellingtonJob Type: Full-time, PermanentJob Summary:We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Coach Mechanic or PSV Mechanic to join our team. As a Coach Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our fleet of coaches and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs). The idealcandidate has a strong background in automotive mechanics with a focus on coaches or PSVs. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality maintenance and ensuring the safety and reliability of ourvehicles.Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on coaches and PSVs to ensure they are in optimal operating condition.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Conduct regular servicing and preventive maintenance activities such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake adjustments, and fluid checks.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for the fleet.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines for repairing and maintaining coaches and PSVs.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including detailed reports on vehicle condition, work completed, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in coach and PSV technology and attend training sessions as required.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts and equipment necessary for maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs or inspections as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, colleagues, and supervisors to address concerns and resolve maintenance-related issues in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive mechanics is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Coach Mechanic, PSV Mechanic, or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of coach or PSV systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and software for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in the automotive industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
