Job Description

Butler Rose are delighted to be assisting a successful Wellington (Somerset) business with the requirement for a Project Buyer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a client that Butler Rose has partnered with many times before, that offer fantasticcareer development, whilst working in a well-established team.The role would either suit an established Buyer, or a junior procurement/supply chain professional keen to take the next step in their career. Full training can be provided. Duties include:

  • Understand customer requirements and specifications.
  • Identify potential suppliers and obtain best pricing, lead time and MOQ.
  • Work cross functionally to evaluate potential suppliers
  • Recommend preferred suppliers taking account of the overall purchasing strategy.
  • Manage any new supplier set ups.
  • Act on and resolve problems and delays, communicating and escalating issues that may impact the project timeline.
  • Ensure MRP system parameters are properly updated.
  • Provide cover and assistance to the wider Procurement team as required
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
  • Attend Supplier Review meetings.
Key skills/experience required:
  • Organised, systematic and computer literate.
  • Ability to work independently and cross functionally.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (desirable)
