Job Description

Head of Service Charge Accounts / Service Charge Team Leader - SW London (SW15) - £50k - £65kMy client is a long established firm of Chartered Surveyors providing wide ranging property consultancy services across Prime SW and Central London.Within their Block Management Service Charge Accounting Team, an experienced well rounded Client Accountant (ideally from independent practice) is required for a head of service charge accounts / service charge team leader role undertaking the following:

  • Managing a team of 6
- Raise charges and demands via prompts from automatic reporting produced weekly.- Monthly Bank Reconciliations on Qube.- Reporting - SC Year end Audit Packs, Owner Statements run at fund level, Debtors, Bank statement, Bank rec each fund.- Budgets - To load budget and raise charges via instruction received from PM. Budget added at fund level and periodic charge calculated and raised.- Monitoring all cash balances, moving service charge/rent funds to correct accounts.- Production and submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC.- Updating and maintaining the property management accounting systems and other databases- Service Charge Accounting - generating balancing charges when required.- Ensuring New suppliers meet our criteria and setting them up on the database, ensuring that database is kept up to date (e.g. chasing PI insurance upon expiry and not paying invoices until received)- Allocation of incoming queries via workflow, Landlord payments and queries.- Liaising with leaseholders and clients regarding service charge and rental accounting queries, ensuring that they are logged on Qube and updated through to closure.The suitable head of service charge accounts / service charge team leader will need 4-5+ years block management accounting experience alongside exposure to QUBE software (Essential), strong Excel skill, a stable career history and a can-do, quality focusedattitude.Initially this role will be office based but eventually will include some hybrid working. This will be decided on a person by person basis.The successful head of service charge accounts / service charge team leader can expect a starting basic salary from £50k - £65k with regular reviews and uplifts based on performance, tenure and responsibility.If you are an experienced client accountant working within an independent block management firm and would like to focus your accounting skillset in a prime London environment please apply now for immediate consideration.
