Job Description

Technical Gas AuditorLocation: Walsham Le Willows Head Office near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk,Salary: £38,000-£40,000 per annumHours of Work: Normally Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30. However, this needs to be flexible dependant on workload and site visits. (In an emergency response scenario, you will be expected to attend the site at a moment’s notice)About the Company:Gas-elecwas established in 1996, with the launch of the UK’s first ever combined gas and electrical safety inspection carried out by one engineer in one visit giving one report. We provide a wide range of other services including ON CALL, Legionella testing, CO and Smoke alarms, boiler repairs and installations.Technical Gas Auditor Responsibilities:

  • On a daily basis you will need to organise your own travel based on the audit schedule and other workloads
  • Total responsibility for gas safe registration compliance of engineers regarding qualifications and calibrated equipment
  • Total responsibility for conducting gas engineers on site audits in the UK
  • Conduct to conduct complaint and technical investigations for HSE and gas safe and reported back findings and recommendations which may have involve retaining of engineers via a training centre or "on the job"
  • Host regular Technical meetings with MD, HR and the Operations Director. Hosted meetings (1x per year) with gas safe account manager to review technical matters
  • Attend and contribute to any directors meetings involving new products and business matters, including the development of an ON-CALL strategy
  • Work with IT to develop new reporting documentation, keep reporting documents (GSR’S) up to date. Contribute to operations manual updates
  • Attend trade exhibitions, manufactures training sessions, communicate updated technical bulletins and notifiy networks of any relevant information either in email- to all or individual or via our electronic notice board
  • Main source of technical support for engineers, customer service teams and customers
  • Be able to create and present PowerPoint communications to internal department as well as various assessment bodies, clients and agents if required
  • Assisted HR department in recruiting, interviewing and franchise terminations based on technical failings
  • Attend any national engineering meetings and any regional meeting were applicable
  • Develop KPI’s to monitor our field engineer’s performance
    • Technical Gas Auditor Requirements:
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a gas engineer working in domestic dwellings
  • ACS qualifications in the following:
  • Cookers and ranges (CKR1)
  • Boilers/Water heaters (CENWAT)
  • Fires (HTR1)
  • Space heaters and warm air (DAH1) - Desirable
  • Ideally a Qualified Gas Auditor (However we would be willing to provide training for the right candidates)
  • Good knowledge of domestic electrics (Advantageous)
