Our client is the UKs biggest end-to-end commercial vehicle fleet management business managing and maintaining a fleet of over 90,000 vehicles across 81 locations.They have an exciting opportunity for an HGV Technician to join the team at their Wakefield workshop on a full-time permanent basis, being Wednesday to Saturday (nights)The HGV Technician will be responsible for conducting motor vehicle repairs on HGVs for external customers, including the inspection, maintenance, repair and service of all types of mechanical assets.In return, the HGV Technician, at the Wakefield workshop, can expect a basic salary of ranging from £45873, Garage Services Incentive Bonus, 25 Days Annual Leave, Free MOTs, Reward & Recognition Schemes, Health and Wellbeing Schemes plus much more.Role & Responsibilities* To ensure all HGV repairs and maintenance is completed as per company/manufacturer requirements and standards* Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with warranty terms* Ensure full and complete end of shift handover including vehicle on or off-road status* To complete job cards, service sheets, time sheets and any other relevant paperwork in an accurate, timely and efficient manner* To build rapport, develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers* To contribute to the development and delivery of an effective and proactive cultural environment* To contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices within the VMU* Undertakes necessary training to become multi-skilled* Provide on the job training and support for other technicians as and when required* To undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriateRequirements, Skills & Experience* Must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance Repair, or considered qualified by experience* Proven experience working as an effective Vehicle Technician* Excellent customer service skills* Great communication skillsThough not essential, any additional qualifications and/or experience in Diagnostics or Fleet Experience would be highly desirable.This is a great opportunity to join an award-winning fleet supplier that offers a blend of expertise in all things fleet to suit customer needs.
