We are delighted to be working alongside our large, established and highly professional client who is seeking to recruit a customs agent to join their team.The role is permanent, Mon-Fri and pays a yearly salary of £25k - excellent company benefitsRole / responsibilities Production of UK export declarations, UK import declarations and corresponding documentationManage the portal, ensuring all declarations are submitted on timeManaging compliance of customs process in aid of achieving 100% compliance for all declarationsProduction and review of documentation ensuring import/export consignments are HMRC compliantConsultation with HMRC agents to achieve passage of goods through import/export processes as requiredAssignment of correct tariff codes to consignmentsLiaising with suppliers to obtain relevant paperwork in relation to import shipmentsWorking with wider customs team to ensure daily completion of relevant tasksAssisting suppliers and customers with ad-hoc queriesExperience / background requiredOperational customs experience in freight forwarding/customers broker/customs agency or customs department working environmentStrong working knowledge of customs processes at an operational levelExcellent communication skills, internal and external (customers, clients)Excellent Microsoft Office Excel skills.
