I am currently looking for an Infrastructure Architect within the South Wales area.Infrastructure Architect£43,434-£50,296CardiffBy owning the whole of the University technical eco-landscape (Infrastructure and network); the Technical Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for effective management and the evolution of the infrastructure strategy making sure it aligns with thecompanys needs and direction with security being at the heart of every decision, assuring the designed are aligned to business needs of today and tomorrow; thus requiring high level of networking capabilities within and outside the organisation. The postholder is therefore responsible for scanning the market and bringing in emerging technologies and technology-enabled business models that the company might lever for competitive advantage.The post holder will understand both business and functional requirements and provide strategic guidelines to ensure the companys complex technical infrastructure being used by the University are scalable, reliable, available, manageable and have interoperablecapability. They will design the interface between multiple infrastructure applications network and middleware systems.The post holder will have an in-depth understanding of technology and technology trends within the field of infrastructure & network technology. They will apply this insight to enable the business to innovate through the use of technology.You will act as a design authority for key Infrastructure technologies covering Data Centre, LAN & WAN and Cloud solutions and determine the technical requirements for infrastructure delivery and maintenance.1. Through awareness of the needs of the organisation, works with both IT leadership team and key stakeholders to promote the benefits that a common approach to information and communications technology deployment will bring to USW as a whole. Coordinatesthe promotion, acquisition, development, and implementation of information systems and services in close liaison with those responsible for management and strategy. SFIAInformation system coordinationlevel 62. Actively maintains recognised expert level knowledge in infrastructure architecture. Provides definitive and expert advice in this sphere. Oversees the provision of specialist advice by others, consolidates expertise from multiple sources, including thirdparty experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.
