Job Description

Job Title: Skilled Vehicle MechanicDepartment: Vehicle and Plant MaintenanceLocation: TranentPay: £15.49 per hourThree shift patterns:

  • Monday to Thursday: 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 5-hour shift on Fridays.
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with Fridays off.
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 5-hour shift on Fridays.
Job Summary:Our clients are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join their Vehicle and Plant Maintenance team in Tranent. The primary responsibility of this role is to repair and maintain a diverse range of vehicles in their Fleet, including LGVs, PSVs, Specialist vehicles,Light Goods, and Cars. The work will be conducted in our purpose-built workshop or other locations as required. Additionally, assistance with plant items may be necessary.Key Responsibilities:Repair and maintain various classes of vehicles (LGV, Light Goods, PSV, specialist, and cars) to a high-quality standard.Perform scheduled servicing and repairs according to specified times and standards.Operate all workshop equipment and machinery proficiently.Undertake maintenance work to ensure compliance with legal requirements.Complete all necessary documentation accurately.Adhere to Health and Safety procedures and departmental policies while carrying out work.Provide a high-quality service to internal and external customersPerform other relevant duties as assigned by the Workshop Controller.Qualifications:Time Served Craft Operative in the appropriate tradeTime served modern apprenticeshipRelevant City and Guilds CertificateSVQ level 3 and passed skills testSkills/Experience:Current clean Driving LicenceCurrent clean LGV Driving LicencePractical Electrical and Mechanical experienceProven experience working on a wide range of vehiclesExperience in specialist hydraulic systems, municipal vehiclesAbility to work independently without direct supervisionKnowledge of Health and Safety requirements.If you are interested and have the relevant qualifications please apply today with an up to date CV or contact John Elliott directly on /
