Job Description

Water is essential to life, so our business is always openWhat youll be doingWe are seeking a driven candidate to provide MEICA and Civil Engineering construction solutions, to the process and network functions across Thames Water, on Waste Water Assets. You will ensure that the H&S requirements, quality standards, contractual specifications,commercial objectives and program deadlines are met in a timely manner. Key duties will include:

  • Managing the procurement process, framework suppliers and sub-contractor supply chain involved in the delivery of site-based construction activities
  • Being directly responsible for resource management and the training, development and support of directly managed engineers
  • Providing estimates, programming and planning support to the wider team
  • Ensuring delivery of all construction projects on the program with 100% compliance with client specifications
  • Managing the clients site requirements ensuring minimal impact to the operational functionality of the site
  • Delivering all projects within legislative, CDM and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental and HR
  • Managing up to 12 staff, and all stakeholder key interfaces, internal and external
  • £50,000 to £56,000 depending on skills and experience
  • £4,500 car allowance and fuel expenses
  • 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Hybrid workingCan be based at various locations around South West London/East Surrey
  • Required to travel to operational sites where project work is underway or being scoped
Were looking for you to:
  • Have proven experience in managing a team in person and remotely
  • Have gained experience within a commercial and technical role and preferably educated to degree/HND level in engineering and/or business administration, ideally with post-qualification experience
  • Have an understanding of basic civil engineering works, contract law, planning, estimating and tendering
  • Have a proven track record of project management in an engineering environment with a good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and ICA systems of work
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have your own transport
