On average youll be working 8am-4pm weekdays and 8am-6pm weekends (this will be a little later in Summer).This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.Salary: £27,300 - £32,760 depending on experienceDuration: Permanent contractInterview Dates: 23rd, 24th & 25th January 2023 What its like to work here Reporting to the Senior Food & Beverage Manager, youll be based at Calke Abbey, one of the East Midlands top 10 visitor attractions. The newly refurbished restaurant serves local and seasonal produce, including organically rearedmeat from the estate.As well as the house, Calke is popular with visitors looking to explore the gardens, pleasure grounds, stableyards, and the 600+ acre estate including an ancient deer park, wetland and nature reserve. Our popular commercial spaces suchas the restaurant, caf, pop-up refreshments and shop help to make much of Calkes extensive conservation work possible. What youll be doing Working with the Food & Beverage Management team youll use your skills to develop delicious menus, using local produce where available, that adapt to the seasons and work with the National Trust Cookbook framework to prepare delicious food.Youll be constantly seeking and developing new income opportunities, working to achieve financial targets and increase margins by minimising waste and controlling costs and resources.Through effective people management and leadership, and with the National Trust ethos at the forefront of your mind, youll motivate the team of staff and volunteers to strive for a culture of exceptional service and make it a great place to work.Youll enjoy preparing food from scratch using fresh/seasonal ingredients and will be confident with creating bakes,making soups, stews, sausage rolls and preparing & presenting food to order served directly to the customers over busy lunchtime periods.Youll receive a bespoke induction and allergen/food safety training.
