Job Description

We are recruiting for permanent Band 2 Health Care Assistants who demonstrate a kind and caring personality and a passion for looking after patients on our community hospital wards. Part Time and Full Time posts are availableIn-patient wards provide multidisciplinary support and care planning to patients with complex medical and rehabilitation needs. We provide high quality and compassionate care to our service users.The Role:Whilst a complete Job and Person specification is attached to this advertisement, key elements include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care
  • Taking physical measurements from named clients/service users as delegated by the team;
  • Supporting clients/service users in maintaining their health and wellbeing;
  • Undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities;
  • Under the supervision of healthcare professionals assist the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care;
  • Ensuring high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals;
  • Assisting Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans;
  • Accurately recording patient information.

  • Contribute to the care of our patients with kindness, compassion and empathy.
  • Have good communication skills, a passion for working on our wards and a clear understanding of the role of a HCA within the team to support the care of our patients.
  • A willingness to engage in developing both yourself and the service is essential.
  • Have the qualifications and experience as highlighted in the Person specification
    • You will be a good team player and have a compassionate and sensitive approach. A basic level of IT competence is required.We actively encourage development and aim to provide a flexible workforce to meet service needs. This will include internal rotation to cover a 24hr 7-day service and the ability to work in other localities/departments.
