Job Description

As part of expansion and succession plans, a Manufacturing Systems Consultant is required to join a globally recognized research and technology organization specializing in servicing the consumer products industry. The role will be basedat the head offices in Kettering, Northamptonshire and involve extensive overseas travel.The company supply a range of products and services to clients in order to add value throughout their supply chain and provide software applications into manufacturing environments to help users understand and set standards for their process costs.The job holder will be expected to:

  • Provide manufacturing / production / operational expertise in the use of the company’s manufacturing systems software applications when implemented in manufacturing / industrial facilities around the world
  • Manage the installation and onboarding of manufacturing systems for customers both remotely and on-site in the UK and overseas
  • Provide technical support and training to customers to maximise the benefit of the software applications within their facilities
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and work closely with the product owner and Software team
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing teams, carry out demonstrations and work with potential new customers helping them to understand the system benefits and how they would work in specific business environments
  • Test product improvements and changes prior to release
Applications are invited from candidates with the following skills and attributes:
  • Good background experience in manufacturing systems / industrial engineering / continuous improvement / lean systems ideally including the adoption and implementing of digital technologies for data management and analyses
  • Strong communication skill with the ability to train and teach in a technical environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers in different cultures
  • Manufacturing, engineering or relevant technical qualifications
  • Good problem solver and proactive self-starter
  • Ability to travel throughout the UK and globally is essential
This permanent position offers a great opportunity to join a well-established and respected organization supplying an array of products and services to clients within the UK and throughout the world.The starting salary range is £35,000 to £37,000pa.
