Committed to providing high-quality services and support to its residents, Tameside Council values innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.Position Overview:Tameside Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join their Safeguarding Service. This is locum position offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of effective safeguarding interventions and services to vulnerablechildren and families in Tameside.Key Responsibilities:Support the Team Manager in the effective management and supervision of a team of social workers and support staff within the Safeguarding Service.Provide guidance, advice, and support to team members in assessing and managing risks to children and young people, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.Assist in the allocation and prioritization of cases, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions to safeguard children and promote their welfare.Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and plans to improve the quality and effectiveness of safeguarding services within the team.Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including partner agencies and professionals, to coordinate multi-agency support and interventions for children and families.Assist in the preparation and presentation of reports, case reviews, and other documentation as required, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant standards and procedures.Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Senior Social Worker or Assistant Team Manager within a safeguarding or childrens social care setting.
  • A relevant professional qualification in social work (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
  • Must be a car driver
