We have a fantastic opportunity for a Process Improvement Engineer to join our Engineering team here at PZ Cussons, on a full-time permanent basis at our state-of-the-art Liquids Manufacturing facility in Agecroft, Salford.About UsPZ Cussons is a global, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, with office locations in the UK, US, Australia, Africa and Asia. You will recognise some of our renowned, market-leading household names (think Carex, Imperial leather and Original Source…) and now here is the opportunity to join the organisation responsible for them.The RoleAs a Process Improvement Engineer at PZ Cussons, you will identify & deliver process improvement/change/sustainability projects, aligned to the longer term strategic and technical objectives for PZ UK. This role will be involved in many projects initially, inclusive of liquid soap growth, hand gel growth, product development innovation within surfactants and plant technology/sustainability.A Process Improvement Engineer at PZ Cussons will challenge the status-quo, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the technology/R&D agenda/supply chain agendas into the process plant. They will also develop and support the delivery of the process improvement plan through the identification of initiatives; versus best practices, technology developments and input from consultants and our key automation supplier, Rockwell.Duties/AccountabilitiesAs a Process Improvement Engineer, you will be accountable for, but not limited to, the following:

  • The delivery and ownership of the change process on plant changes within the process plant; including process systems and physical plant.
  • To identify the requirements, justify and deliver key projects to ensure Process Plant Sustainability, Reliability and Continuous Improvements, in order to meet strategic objectives identified for the manufacturing facility.
  • To be responsible for delivering the Technology/Innovation/NPD Agenda into the process plant.
  • Deliver Automation and Technology/Equipment Upgrades (Rockwell).
  • To undertake investigations and analysis to support technology/innovation opportunities.
  • Key Attributes/SkillsThe ideal candidate for this role should be able to demonstrate some, or all, of the following:Technical/Professional Experience
  • A track record of project delivery/commissioning on a Process Plant (Capex delivery from £100k - £1mil +)
  • Process automation systems, recipe and maintenance/repair management
  • Process engineering and costing experience
  • Project investigation and analysis (including risk analysis) with experience in the identification of improvements projects
  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams with various levels of stakeholder
  • Able to influence and advise senior stakeholders within the business on Plant Process change initiatives.
  • Knowledge/Qualifications
  • Chemical Engineering Degree (Preferred)
  • Engineering Mechanical/Electrical &/or Process Engineering Degree (Considered)
  • Extensive relevant industry experience and other relevant engineering qualifications (Considered)
