Job Description

People ConsultantBusiness Unit: Records ManagementLocation: Manchester M27 8UJContract Type: Permanent - Full TimeHours: 37.5Salary: £36,000 - £40,000To support the Head of People to deliver the People strategy across the business unit and provide credible, high-quality coaching, training, and HR advice to people managers.To partner with and support managers to manage all aspects of day-to-day operational business requirements for the business unit.This role will initially have high focus on training and development.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide sound and practical advice and support to managers in dealing with employee relations cases
  • Work in partnership with managers to bring each case to an appropriate business conclusion working within Company and legal guidelines
  • Proactively support the management of absence within the business unit and including ensuring that all long-term sickness cases are brought to a satisfactory conclusion in a timely manner
  • Engage Occupational Health support as required
  • Coach and advise managers to resolve ER issues effectively and build their team members capability
  • Conduct root cause analysis where required to proactively resolve these
  • Manage relationships/negotiations with Trade Unions where required
  • Maintain up to date employment law knowledge in line with UK legislation
ABOUT YOU
  • CIPD Level 5 preferable
  • Experience of developing and delivering training across a multi-site environment
  • Able to successfully demonstrate evidence of business knowledge and commercial awareness in a multi-site field-based HR advisory and business partner role
  • Able to successfully demonstrate evidence of working with complex employment relations issues
  • Able to successfully demonstrate evidence of managing large scale restructure and redundancy programmes
  • Working knowledge of TUPE legislation and experience of managing acquisition integrations
  • In conjunction with senior management, evidence of being able to take the lead on pay and T&Cs negotiations and consultations and manage relationships with trade unions where necessary
  • Excellent coaching skills, especially around the ability to give and receive feedback
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability of relay complex data or messages, simply and concisely both in written and verbal formats
