Job Description

The main purpose of the job is to plan and manager the flow of materials from suppliers, through the facility and delivery to customer.Key Relationships:Responsible to: General Manager - OperationsLiaison With: Production Team, Sales Administrator, EngineeringThe Main Tasks of the Job:

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
  • Negotiation of purchase prices / contracts and supply agreements
  • Sourcing of new materials, packaging and suppliers.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure the seamless introduction of new products.
  • Monitoring and managing suppliers, taking actions as required to maximise supplier Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • Managing the Purchasing function, raising Purchase Orders as required.
  • Management of Purchasing Assistant
  • Ensure materials are sourced in full and aligned to production schedules and customer requirements
  • Maintain stock rotation in stores
  • Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place
  • To collate and manage incoming sales / customer demand and F/Cs to deliver and communicate production plans.
  • Produce production paperwork as required
  • Measure and report on achievement against the production plan
  • Analysis of production capacity against requirements & sales forecasts, highlighting any potential issues and suggesting solutions.
  • Conduct daily meetings to keep track of production schedules, notifying sales of any potential delays or issues with customer orders
  • Take overall responsibility for obsolete parts process and ensure business is left with minimum liability and minimal waste
  • Develop the company ERP system in all areas of the Supply Chain, ensuring data integrity and accuracy of reporting
  • Provide cover for the Production Manager when required
