Production Electronics Technician £25,000 to £30,000 plus benefits Main Purpose of the Production Electronics TechnicianSupport production by working to enhance yield, investigate and solve production issues and maintain equipment. Main duties of the Production Electronics Technician Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.Investigate production engineering problems, analyse root causes and resolve issues.Evaluate production activities and make recommendations for improvements.Suggest new and/or alternative materials to maximize production.Management and repair of RMAs and returns as required.Work with the quality function to Investigate and document the cause of returns and report causes and remedial actions to ensure continuous improvement within DTI, MPI and Operations.Analyse fault trends in RMAsCollect product intelligence on reports of product faults and in house production issues and make recommendations for remedial actions.Investigate production yield issues, suggest and implement countermeasuresAssist in maintaining test rigsResponsible for maintenance and control of equipment under the company calibration system.Developing and maintaining assembly instructionsLocate and repair product faults.Perform modifications on production batches as required.Assist in building engineering prototypesKey skills and experience required for the Production Electronics Technician Expert skills in manual soldering of electronic components down to 0402/TQFP case size.Expert skills in the use of hand toolsSkilled in the use of electronic test equipment; DMMs, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, etc.A practical, can-do attitude towards solving PCB and mechanical assembly issues is essential.Computer literacy is essential. The ability to create/modify macros in MS Excel would be an advantage.The ability to read and understand mixed signal (analogue and digital) electronic circuit schematics is essential.The ability to fault-find electronic circuits based upon their behaviour and upon the circuit schematic is necessary.Qualifications in electronics such as ONC, City & Guilds, BTEC level 3 or equivalent would be a distinct advantage.The flexibility to adapt to the needs of a fast growing company Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective team work.Benefits for the Production Electronics Technician 25 days holidays plus bank holidays4% Pension Car Parking Clean / Air conditioning environment Great hours of work Monday to Friday 37.5 hour a week flexible (6.30am to 2.30pm) Swavesey For more details on this post, please contact Lisa ParsonsINDENG
