Job Description

Position: Stock Controller / First Time Seen AuditorLocation: Appleby Magna (DE12 8AA)Contract Type: PermanentHours: Full Time, 40 per week - various shifts availableSalary: £24,960 per annumBenefits: 30 days holiday, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme.About the Job:Relationships mean everything to us, and this one is particularly special. Youll have an important part to play in automotive success that spans nearly 50 years.Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rovers new Mercia Park campus, one of the largest UKwarehouse developments for a single customer. This is a great opportunity to be a major part of the successful implementation of what is said to be the largest automotive logistics project in the UK.Were a fast paced business, always delivering amazing quality and results for our customers, and this warehouse location is no exception.We have a number of opportunities within our Stock function for Stock Controllers and First Time Seen Auditors. As one of our Stock Controllers you will implement, follow, and maintain robust stock control processes. As one of our First Time Seen Auditors youwill carry out a range of daily tasks and checks at inbound, ensuring that we maximise warehouse fill and that the product is in within the correct media and being sent to the correct storage area.Various shift patterns: Nights - 21:00 to 07:30 Monday to Thursday, Earlies - 06:00 to 14:30 Monday to Friday, and Lates - 14:30 to 23:00 Monday to FridayStock Controller Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all stock controls are adequate and robustly followed by all areas of the operation
  • Report on and investigate stock adjustments to minimise risk to the business and drive process improvements
  • Initiate review processes in all areas of the business, with a view to examining and rectifying potential stock integrity risks to the business
  • Produce recommendations to ensure the security of stock at all times
  • Analyse of data and subsequent investigation by exception
  • Manage all aspects of Uniparts stock control within the site
  • Support the team leader in ensuring KPIs are consistently achieved
  • Ensure that a standard approach to investigations is maintained using the tools and techniques of the Unipart Way
  • Identify, using Root Cause Analysis, any process failure issues and report and remedy using the tools and techniques of the Unipart Way
  • Understand the importance of the PI process
  • Be flexible to alter shifts where applicable and attend weekend stock counts
  • Drive stock integrity into the minds of all areas and to build operational commitment to view stock integrity as business as usual practice
Stock Controller Requirements:Wed love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think youd be able to perform well in this role!
  • Experience in and an understanding of warehousing principles
  • Understanding of the accounting implications of stock integrity to the business and how this impacts the commercial elements of the contract
  • An attitude of think before react
  • Ability to learn new systems and changes to processes
  • Used to working in an environment with KPIs and SLAs and the ability to report on performance against them
  • Understanding of PI Programming
  • Pro-active in improving current processes and implementation of improvements once approved
  • Fully PC literate in all current required tools.
