Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land RoverGlobal Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rovers new Mercia campus, one of the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer.As Compliance Manager, your role is to support Unipart and JLR in maintaining their compliance record both in the UK and in their overseas operations. The role will embrace both inbound and outbound movement of automotive aftermarket products as well as brandedgoods product range.As part of your key responsibilities youll be involved in the following:

• Business Protection Audits (Safety and Security of International Supply Chain)
• CAA Known Consignor Status Audits
• US CBP CTPAT Audits
• ISPM-15 audits
• Transit Authorisation (HMRC - NCTS) for EU product movements
• Export Declaration processes and NES
• Compliance with HMRC Notice 703 and export record retention schedules
• Import processes for Returns, Warranty & Worn Core management
• Shipment failures (over and under reporting)
• Dangerous Goods compliance movements (IATA, IMDG and ADR) and observation and adherence to the complexities of the UKs CAA regulations and auditing against accepted standards and practices
• Packaging Requirements for both HAZ and DG products
• Lithium Ion batteries compliance (SDS and UN 38.3 Test Reports)
• Route to market freight understanding and communication with Freight Forwarders, Shipping Lines, Hauliers and FPOs
• Supporting internal departments in compliance related matters
• Liaising with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce with respect to COO, Preference Certs etc.
• Supporting the client in any ad hoc requirements

Compliance Manager Requirements:Wed love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think youd be able to perform well in this role!

• Experience in a fast-paced international logistics 3PL with the compliant global movement of automotive products or similar
• Strong understanding of HMRC Authorisations such as IPR, RGR, CFSP, GSP, Authorised Consignor/Consignee, Transit and AEO - and understanding of the UK Government EoT and STW programs would be beneficial
• Awareness of the roles of the UK and their overseas counterparts such as the DEFRA / HSE / HMRC / Border Force UK / CAA / VCA / Export Control Unit
• Expected to maintain membership / participation with the following: Institute of Exports and International Trade - SMMTSociety of Motor Manufacturers and Traders - HMRC JCCC Customs Products & Processes to deputise for the Senior Compliance Manager dueto absence - HM Cabinet Office - Border Protocols and future state (TOM)
• An eye for detail with analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Advanced excel skills
• Automotive experience
• Used to working independently and meeting deadlines - prioritising multiple workstreams and plan work towards annual key dates
• Ability to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environment
