Most importantly the candidate will be able to demonstrate sound troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and a desire to learn and implement new technologies.The ideal candidate will have:• a Technology related apprenticeship, A-Level or Equivalent and a GCSE at grade C or above in Math and English.• 1-2 Years’ experience working 1st/2nd line IT/software support role or systems admin and gained a working knowledge of windows server family (Active Directory, Wsus, Group Policy, IIS and SQL Server, Office 365, SharePoint) and some knowledge of Linux.The Company: Industry leader in the provision of Integrated Software Systems for use in a Local Authority environment.Location: Staple Hill, North East BristolResponsibilities:As a computer systems administrator you will be responsible for administering change control, routine maintenance, user management, and dealing with IT support events. You will be part of the procurement and deployment of new hardware and will be involved in the implementation of IT projects.Accountable for:• Providing technical support to the business in a professional manner.• Administering change control of the business and hosted system infrastructure.• Act as a point of escalation to the software support team.• Hardware installation and troubleshooting.• Routine maintenance and inventory of IT assets (physical and virtual)• Contributing to the documentation and operating procedures.• Keeping the computer systems team and stakeholders aware of issues and escalate accordinglyKey Skills and Capabilities:• Good communication both written and verbal.• Strong problem-solving skills• Ability to multi-task• Willing to take ownership of tasks until completion.• Interest and aptitude for using scripts to solve problems at scale.• A good understanding of computer security principles.• Operational experience working with most or all of the following technologies: AWS, ELK, IIS, Windows, Linux, Office 365, Active Directory, Git.
