Job Description

Summary Were looking for someone to join our team at Wentworth Castle Gardens who has experience in volunteer management and community engagement. If youre a people person whod like to help us take volunteering to the next level and develop our relationshipswith local communities and partners, wed love to hear from you. Interviews will be held 26th August 2022. What its like to work here Wentworth Castle Gardens is one of the countrys greatest 18th century landscapes: a place of beauty and peace, rich in history and stories. Since 2019, weve been working with Barnsley Museums and Northern College to create a place which offers opportunitiesfor everyone to be part of our story, and which actively benefits our local communities. Reporting into the Partnership & Participation Manager, you will be supporting our ambition to diversify our volunteering base and deepen our community engagement work.Its an exciting time to get involved.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll lead for volunteering and community engagement on site, shaping and delivering our three-year plan. We have over 150 existing volunteers on site, in a range of roles. Youll spend time with volunteers to get to know what matters to them, whilst helpingto build the confidence and capability of our volunteer managers as they lead and support their teams.Youll also spend time off site, building relationships and understanding with local communities and partner organisations. Working with these contacts, youll develop new and exciting participation and volunteering experiences that better meet the needsof local communities.Youll be on the duty manager rota for the site. There will be occasional evening and weekend working. Who were looking for Wed love to hear from you if you have:

  • Understanding of good practice in volunteer management
  • Understanding of good practice in community engagement and partnership working
  • The ability to build collaborative working relationships with property teams and partners
  • Understanding of different approaches to participation
  • Understanding of the social trends and different audience motivations in volunteering
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • The ability to understand property prioritiesand respond to them in the volunteering & community plan.
