Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Required to develop and provide a high quality fire safety training service for designated management, staff and other relevant persons that is in line with legislation and codes of practice as well as relevant company policies and procedures.
  • To provide support and assistance to the Head of Fire Safety and the Fire Safety Team with technical fire safety queries where required.
  • Deliver high quality fire safety training, in line with fire safety training documents, including “Fire Safety Awareness”, “Fire Warden”, “Practical Firefighting” and “Scheme Specific” training courses.
  • Develop and undertake scheme specific table top and practical training sessions designed to develop a full understanding of relevant aspects of fire safety, fire actions and evacuation policies.
  • Be responsible for the management of the booking, arrangement and delivery of relevant fire safety training across the clients property portfolio.
  • Ensure that complete and accurate records are kept of all attendance at fire safety training and shared with HR Services for dissemination to senior and local management as required.
  • Prioritise workload in facilitating all bookings of fire safety training as requested by scheme specific managers and departments.
  • Assist the Fire Safety Manager Central Operations by designing and developing fire safety training courses, evacuation procedure documents, workshops and seminars for staff.
  • Assist the Head of Fire Safety with the provision of periodic reports on the status of fire safety training.
  • Assist the fire safety team with advice on training and fire safety issues at specific premises.
  • Undertake basic fire safety audits during training sessions and deliver fire safety advice to managers and staff as required in line with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Where requested observe practical fire safety drills at specific premises and provide feedback and reports on those drills to managers, staff, customers and the fire safety team.
  • Where requested support the fire safety team in customer meetings and provide fire safety advice, on request, to customers.
  • Outcomes
  • Ensure that training is devised and delivered safely in line with the requirements of Health and Safety Legislation, Fire Safety Legislation, approved codes of practice and any other relevant guidance.
  • Ensure that a regular review of training is in place with particular reference to scheme specific fire risk assessments and historical fire incident knowledge across properties.
  • Ensure that the fire safety training programme is effective, innovative and maintained in line with the requirements of statutory, mandatory and policies and procedures requirements at all times.
  • Ensure timely and accurate professional fire safety advice is available and delivered to managers, staff, contractors and the fire safety team alike.
