Job Description

We transform forgotten buildings into inspirational spaces that feel like home.Can you help us in our journeyAbout You as the teams new Facilities/Handyman:Working directly with the General Managers and Deputy General Managers, youll ensure each building is maintained to a high standard. Your skills will be used well in many ways each week including:

  • Work alongside the team to ensure each property is clean, safe, secure and in good decorative/operational order.
  • Undertake general maintenance duties, including minor decorative works, handyman duties and first-fix repairs to fixtures/fittings and building services.
  • Identify issues that require external contractors to rectify, and escalate accordingly.
  • Carry out regular health & safety and statutory compliance checks (e.g. weekly fire tests, water temperature testing etc) to ensure all Canvas buildings provide a safe working environment for our customers and undertake remedial works where possible.
  • Supervise and coordinate access with external contractors on site (where required) and ensure that works are undertaken to the required standard and quality.
To thrive in this Facilities/Handyman role, wed love you to have many of the following experience, skills and personality traits:
  • A few years of relevant experience as a facilities/handyman experience, ideally in commercial buildings
  • Ideally has a background or experience in basic plumbing/electrical/decorating
  • Preferable to have experience working in multiple building environments
  • Basic IT knowledge in order to use Smartphone software
  • Flexible mindset and willingness to grow within the company
  • Youre friendly and have a can-do approach to people and challenges faced
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment
  • Adaptable to change and always prepared to go the extra mile
  • Collaborative mindset - experience working with various internal departments
  • Personable with the ability to liaise with a wide array of clients
Role: Facilities/Handyman Hours: Full-timeBased: LondonSalary: up to £30,000Package includes:
