Job Description

Role Description Engineering is at the forefront of everything we do as a company, our graduate programme is designed to develop ambitious engineering graduates into Data Centre specialists and our next generation of Leaders.The programme is designed to give you the experience of working within our different functions Designing, Building, Selling and Operating our hyperscale sites that support the Internet. As part of our programme, graduates will complete a series of rotationsacross a number of departments. These will most likely be Operations, Design, Commercial & Real Estate, and Customer Solutions departments. Rotating between these department will ensure you develop a wider, more comprehensive understanding of the business,from operational processes and procedures to the more commercial and strategic objectives.The roles will be site based with opportunities for home working (depending on rotation), you will get to collaborate with colleagues of all levels across our global teams on large scale multi-million euro projects. Rotations This programme will be based in London (UK) with the option to travel to other European sites during the course of the programme.

  • Design Our teams are split between new build and life cycle and are responsible for turning concepts into reality, creating innovative engineering solutions that make our sites resilient and energy-efficient.
  • Operations are responsible for managing maintenance and repair of all services to the data centres, ensuring that our Data Centres have 100% uptime 24/7 365 days per year.
  • Commercial The team is responsible for management of our real estate portfolio, asset management and commercial governance
  • Customer Solutions plays a key role in the acquisition of new business, the team support every potential customer, from a single rack, right the way up to the delivery of a large scale data centre space (Hyperscale). This includes capacityplanning, Technical tours of facilities, guidance on cooling considerations, security requirements and training internal and external teams.
Engineering at Colt DCS means many different things and encompasses a variety of disciplines. Systems found within our buildings include but are not limited to; High Voltage and Medium Voltage power systems, Diesel Generators, Cooling, BMS Controls, UninterruptiblePower supplies, Security and Fire life safety systems.Future career paths could include; Design Engineers, Operations Management, M & E Commissioning, Commercial Analyst, Incident Management, Customer Solutions Architects, Development Manager and Project Management.
