Job Description

AK Teaching are currently working in partnership with a Primary School in North Tyneside who are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support KS1 and KS2 classes. The successful applicant will have previous experience in a TA role and must holda recognised Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3 Qualification or an Educational Degree.JOB ROLEThis Teaching Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in childrens education, drawing on your commitment to developing pupil learning ability and knowledge accessibility.Working closely with class teachers you will be helping a group of learners to expand their knowledge and play a positive role in school life. You will utilize your knowledge, communication skills and creativity to help them understand the information presented.Hours for this Teaching Assistant role would be 8:30am-3:30pm and it will be 5 days a week.Role Responsibilities:

Getting the classroom ready for lessons
Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories
Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
Supervising group activities
Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
Helping with outings and sports events
Taking part in training
Carrying out administrative tasks

Candidate Requirements:

Flexibility and creativity
An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults
Good organisational skills
Enjoy working with children
An ability to work confidently with children, with a professional approach
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behaviour
Patience and a sense of humour
A level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or Educational Degree
Experience working in schools or educational settings
A valid DBS (Can apply if needed)
Eligibility to work in the UK (Two references, including your current or most recent employer)
