Job Description

Production Team LeaderSalary £35,000 paImmediate start availableLocation: Colchester, Essex - Easy Access from the A12 and A120 junctionsPermanent Early ShiftSpecial Purpose Machinery Manufacturer to the food processing industry, requires a Mechanical biased Production Team Leader / Supervisor to lead a team within the mechanical assembly production area and make sure work is carried out according to the productionplan.As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for day-to-day running of the early shift production line including first line management for the production operativesThe team consists of approximately up to 20 employees. The Production Team Leader will work in close collaboration with colleagues in the departments: Production, Assembly, Supply Chain, Service, Shipping Logistics, HR, Industrial Engineering, etc.It is essential that you have both experience working as a Team Leader/Supervisor and as a Mechanical Assembler.Main Tasks includes:

  • Partly working hands-on in production
  • Leads a group of direct workers of 10-20 people, both internal and contingent
  • Ensures working of team members, facilitates and fulfils the tasks within the defined time, amount, quality and costs and according to safety and health protection regulations
  • Advises the Manager in performance appraisals, goal setting interviews and other relevant HR tasks
  • Conduct performance appraisals, goal setting interviews and other relevant HR tasks
  • Recognise the need for necessary training of direct reports
  • Administration attendance system for direct reports, controls evidence of reported worked hours and keeps record of attendance
  • Ensures keeping all working places and surroundings clean
  • Carries out all other needed activities to ensure smooth flow in warehousing or other activities assigned by the Manager
  • Communicates and cooperates with other relevant departments
  • Holds regular work organisation meetings
  • Optimises the assembly working plan on a daily and weekly basis with respect to available capacities (sick leaves, holiday, etc.)
  • Responsible for the proper solving of arising quality deficiencies in ongoing assembly
  • In the event of an internal disagreement in the assembly process, contacts the relevant manager in order to look for right solution
  • In case of any individual abnormality in the flow of assembly informs the manager
  • Participate in other work activities adhering to the managers instructions

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Vocational degree or equivalent working experience
  • Familiarity with production processes
  • Worked within a mechanical production assembly environment
Choice of either working:- Monday to Thursday 0600 - 1430 hours & Friday 0600 - 1330 hours OR Monday to Thursday 0700 - 1530 hours & Friday 0700 - 1430 hours.Salary £35,000 pa, Hours: 39 per week.25 days holiday, on site car-parking.Location: Colchester, Essex - Easy Access from the A12 and A120 junctionsPlease bear in mind that you may not hear from us straight away.
