Job Description

Cyber Security ManagerBand: 7Pay: £38,890 - £44,503 (Depending on experience)Location: Either Thurrock or Colchester, Some Travel required initially but mostly remote based at the moment due to the pandemic.(Must have a vehicle and full UK driving license)Start date: ASAPDuration: PermanentHours: Monday - Friday 9am-5pmOverview:

  • Supporting the Trust in relation to all aspects of Cyber Security
  • A service manager to a Cyber Security team, delivering leadership, direction and supervision.
  • Possess a high level of understanding in relation to the cyber security requirements within the NHS.
  • Technically competent in the given technology field(s) relating to Cyber Security to aid in the preventative maintenance of all Trust systems and services.
  • Takes responsibility for the provision, management and security of all Cyber Security toolsets used to protect the Trust. These services include but are not limited to Anti-Virus technologies, patch deployment technologies, firewalls etc.
  • The post holder will participate in the project delivery responsibilities for the Cyber Security aspects of IT&T Services working closely with the Head of Infrastructure, Cyber & Systems and Project Managers.
  • Accountable for the recording and remediation of all Cyber Security related incidents.
  • Customer facing; empathise with users, good interpersonal skills, display active listening skills, polite telephone manner, courteous
  • Proven leadership of a technical team to be both a technical escalation point for direct reports and a management escalation point for strategic and operational decisions.
  • Ability to manage conflict and mediation both inside the team and between teams/services
  • Logistical; articulate and methodical, analytical, numerate and literate, work well under pressure, good time manager, good team worker, ability to multi-task

  • TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • To maintain and project a professional image on behalf of the Trust being courteous at all times.
  • To manage the Cyber Security Team, thereby ensuring that team resources are effectively deployed and that team members maintain an industry awareness of new/emerging technologies.
  • Experience of DevOps Strategy, Desktop Automation, O365, Azure and Power Platform.
  • Ensure that Cyber incidents are logged and responded to in line with the agreed SLA (Service Level Agreements) and escalation parameters.
  • Maintain nationally recognised Cyber Security qualifications, keeping abreast of the ever evolving Cyber Security world.
  • To take responsibility for identifying the cyber security requirements for efficient and cost-effective IT services, having particular regard for the need to ensure that the reliability and resilience of such services is consistent with the clinical and business continuity requirements of the Trust and their providers.
  • To develop, test and improve the performance of the IT Service Continuity, disaster recovery systems and processes and ensure adherence to the processes developed.
  • To investigate new technologies and advise the Head of Infrastructure, Cyber & Systems on how the Trusts Cyber Security can be improved.
  • To manage the provision of appropriate intrusion detection and prevention systems to identify and prevent ongoing and developing threats to the availability and performance of the Network Infrastructure.
  • To develop and enforce the Trusts Network Security Policy.
  • Provide innovative advice on the adoption of new software and hardware technologies
  • To define best practices and protocol in network system development and design.
  • To be aware of, and to adhere to, all Trust policies and procedures.
  • To ensure all Network infrastructure is maintained to an appropriate level to ensure the development, availability and security of the Network infrastructure.
  • Skills / Experience
