Utilising high energy X-Ray technology our products provide baggage and parcel threat detection.The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in the continued improvement and introduction of large x-ray equipment. You will support, develop, and design manufacturing processes, flows, tooling, and fixtures.We are looking for an engineer to compliment and help improve our changing manufacturing engineering department, working within a close-knit operations department and closely with our Engineering Design team.The ideal candidate will have experience of new product introduction in a technically challenging environment, working closely with academic team members would be an advantage to success in the role.What’s on Offer

Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer:

Define and implement production BOM’s and processes to support manufacturing requirements.
Identify technical issues and assist in defining root cause.
Communicate issues clearly (both written and verbally) in a timely manner.
Creates and maintains manufacturing method sheets / work instructions and routings as required.
Support the transfer of processes, process improvements, and products from development to production.
Work with minimum supervision in a technically intensive environment.
Assume ownership of production downtime recording and reporting activities.
As required, assists in the planning and execution of product reliability activities.
May be asked to support additional projects in development as appropriate.
Facilitates engineering changes both in technical supporting information as well as managing their full implementation internally, including work instructions, check sheets and test documentation.
Work with SQE and Procurement on supplier issues.

Skills & Experience:

A clear understanding of design for manufacture at both a component and final assembly level.
Demonstrated leadership of VSM (Value Stream Mapping) led improvement realisation.
Knowledge of UHV & X Ray / precision fabrication production processes.
Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Scientific discipline.
Knowledge of waste reduction techniques (LEAN, Six Sigma Black or Green belt desirable).
Experience of assembly processes including UHV and high voltage systems.
Able to diagnose manufacturing and design faults during assembly activities.
Strong organisational skills including planning, time-management, and prioritising.
