The starting salary for this role is£36,282 per annum for working 36 hours per week.The role is location based and the successful candidate will need to be onsite 5 days per week with some travel between sites within Surrey required. Surrey County Council operates dedicated Tier3 data centres thatsupportcustomers across a variety of business services. We are currently looking for a Data Centre Technician to join the Data Centre Team and play a key role inmaintenance and installationwork.Our normal business hours are between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and each day you will be assigned to either the earlier or later shift.Though there is a requirement for some working outside of normal business hours, you will be entitled to 26 daysannual leave in addition to bank holidays. It is a role that requiresparticipation in the out of hours support rota and a basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.About the roleAs a Data Centre Technician, you will carry out maintenance and installation work that is diverse, sometimes unpredictable and non-routine, and requires creative application of a wide range of skills. You will support the services delivered through the datacentres to optimise cost and manage risk.In this role, you will need to maintain good, professional working relationships with stakeholders and be able to collaborate with customers across both public and private sector. You will also need to have a good understanding of industry best practicesto help you develop more effective and efficient ways of working.About the teamThe Data Centre Teamis a relatively small multi-disciplinary group, but we often work with customers and 3rd party engineers to deliver operational and project objectives as part of a larger team.In such a critical environment, teamwork is essential, and we are focused on risk mitigation in everything we do.
