Job Description

A successful manufacturing business supplying a niche product to customers globally is now looking to strengthen their manufacturing function with the addition of a Process Engineer.This role will be responsible for the establishment, implementation, review and optimisation of all business processes. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer will be tasked with identifying waste and non-value adding activitieswithin company processes; then designing and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency.As Process Engineer your duties will include -

  • Working closely with Department Managers to establish, standardise and control processes.
  • Draft process ideas to reduce cost and improve production rates.
  • Champion compliance with established processes and procedures, and continually seek opportunities to enhance performance through process improvements.
  • Develop Standardised Operating Procedures, Control Plans, and Process Maps.
  • Complete process audits and compile reports
  • Support continuous improvement activities across the business through visible engagement in the application of a range of tools, including kaizen events, 5S, and other appropriate activities.
To be successful in the role the ideal candidate will -
  • Have a background within an engineering manufacturing environment, with experience of reducing scrap, making cost savings and improving quality through lean manufacturing / continuous improvement activities
  • Be familiar with lean tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc
  • Ideally have exposure to plastic injection moulding or CNC machining
  • Be competent in Microsoft Suite including Excel and Visio.
