LOCATION: Roydon, EssexSALARY: £45 per hourHOURS: 9 hours per weekSTART: September 2023DURATION: circa 14 weeksHOLIDAY: To match school holidays Job Description We are looking for a tutor to support a 7 year-old child who has autism (ASD) and ADHD on a 1-1 basis. The role is not a traditional tutoring role and will be an outdoor-based curriculum with activities including boating, paddle-boarding, canoeing, swimming,and wall climbing. Through taking the student on these varied activities the tutor will use speech therapy techniques to further develop the students speech, and integrate some sit down learning before, between, or after activities on a daily basis. The idealcandidate will have a background in special needs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and engage their student. The tutor will be responsible for creating lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing feedback. This is anexcellent opportunity for someone active who is passionate about education and wants to make a difference in the life of a little boy who cant cope with being cooped up in a classroom all day.The child is based on the border of Essex and Hertfordshire, near Roydon. There are many local lakes and waterways within easy reach of this location. This outdoors tutoring is expected to be carried out 3 times a week either in the morning or the afternoon,ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - though the days and times are flexible. A September start would be ideal, though also flexible. The duration of this contract would be up until the end of December. There may also be an opportunity to join the familyin Phuket, Thailand, from mid January to the end of April for tutoring with additional hours, then reconvening back in the UK for further UK-based outdoors tuition.
