Job Description

Network TechnicianCirca £18,000 per annum (negotiable depending upon experience)37 hours per week - 52 weeks per annum07:30 to 15:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 15:00 on Friday(30 minutes lunch break)We are seeking to appoint a Network Technician to join our small, established and successful IT team. Applicants do not require previous IT experience, however, they will need to evidence knowledge and understanding of computers and various software packages. This role will allow the successful candidate to build on their knowledge base and further develop network support skills, which will provide an excellent career path. The Network team provide a comprehensive systems and network support service across the school, which this postholder will play a significant part in providing an efficient and effective customer service and problem solving facility school wide. The successful candidate will be one of the first lines of support for our school staff, as well as students. The candidate will be working closely with the Systems Manager to maintain the smooth day-to-day running of the school computer system and associated hardware, software and peripherals for network and standalone machines, servers and laptops.The successful candidate should be able to evidence education to at least Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent. We do not require any direct IT experience or qualifications, however applicants must have a passion for IT and the determination and drive to learn the network skills required. There will be training and development opportunities provided for an experienced Network Technician or an internal Trainee Scheme depending upon the experience of the successful appointment.The ideal candidate to apply for this role should have the following attributes:
