Job Description

Are you an experienced caregiver Were looking for Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, or Paramedics who are seeking a brand-new challenge that offers a great work-life balance with countless career progression opportunities.As a Functional Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out full, holistic, assessments with individuals who have a varied range of physical and/or mental health disabilities and seeking to receive a benefit scheme. You will interpret medical evidence and gather your findings on the conditions presented into a comprehensive report, to support the decision-making process by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).This Functional Assessor role is ideal if you are passionate about delivering high-quality care, yet ready to advance your career by using your clinical expertise in a new way, within a supportive team environment. This is a highly flexible role, offering a choice of working pattern.Job Responsibilities as a Functional Assessor:

  • A specialised clinical role where you will carry out assessments and compile detailed medical reports - currently remotely due to Covid-19, option to choose to continue working from home or be based on site when pandemic restrictions allow
  • Working with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, including physical, sensory, mental health and cognitive issues
  • Option to be working from home or within an office style environment and carrying out consultations at claimants homes where needed
    • You do not need previous experience as a Functional Assessor, as an excellent, in-depth training masterclass is provided, ensuring you become certified.Benefits for this role as a Functional Assessor:
  • Very flexible working hours - part time, full time, working Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm, evening and/or weekend working, flexible days and hours between Monday to Sunday 8am - 8pm, a flexible rota (provided 6 weeks in advance) or fixed hours
  • Up to 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with completed service

  • Continuous CPD support provided (£400 annual allowance), plus support with your HCPC/NMC revalidation

    • Part of your role as a Functional Assessor will be to use your clinical experience by looking into various different activities of daily living and doing a physical assessment if necessary, to understand the severity of their conditions and what their limitations are.Requirements:
  • RGN, RMN, RLD, Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
  • 2 years post reg clinical experience
  • Full registration with NMC/HCPC with no restrictions on pin
  • Ability to work autonomously and I.T competency would be beneficial
