Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Learning Technologist for an initial 4-month contract on a rate of £200-£250/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for entire contract.Responsibilities:·Working remotely, provide training, support and guidance to staff and students to enable them to make effective use of the new Canvas Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).·Proactive contribution to the delivery of the VLE training, providing end user support to staff and students.·Development of VLE training materials for staff and students·Actively supporting the projects aims and using initiative and collaborative approach to help shape and implement new digital education approach.·Working with staff and our service provider to support the migration of courses from the Blackboard VLE to Canvas·Working with staff to support the design and construction of online and blended courses across our spectrum of programmes and levels within a tight timeframe. ·Working with staff to design and produce digital learning assets such as quizzes, videos and podcasts within agreed timescales.·Actively maintaining a good understanding of practice and research in online and blended learningEssential Skills:·Proven learning technology experience (training, support and guidance to staff, development of supporting guides) in Higher Education using a virtual learning environment such as Canvas or Blackboard.·Experience of advising or supporting subject-matter experts in their use of learning technologies and delivering high standards of service at all times.·Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, statutory and governance requirements and ensuring they are reflected in practice to comply with accessibility, equality and copyright legislation for online and blended learning.·Excellent interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills coupled with the ability to understand and communicate complex issues effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.·Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment.·High level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise major developments.·Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with a professional and proactive approach.Desirable Skills:·Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment.·Experience of using of Canvas VLE.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.
