As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development biomedical research and donor / clinical services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient/donor care whilst remaining internationally competitive. The Donor Services & Transport Department is responsible for the planning and provision of adequate supplies of safe, high quality blood components for NHS Scotland in full compliance with regulatory requirementsAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Donor Marketing and Engagement (DME) team within Donor Services & Transport (DS&T). The successful post holder will support the DME team in the delivery of varied communications for new and existing donors. Working under the direction of the Donor Publicity and Communication Officer, post holder(s) will work in partnership with planning and national territories to help deliver the DS&T collection plan.The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge of blood collection processes and systems, and an excellent working knowledge of eProgesa. The candidate, along with other members of the DME team, will monitor donor appointment grids, current blood stocks and take action to help maintain target blood stock levels. The post will be based at the Jack Copland Centre in Edinburgh as the post holder will be required to work in the National Print Unit to help produce and mail out donor communications as and when required.The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work with a level of autonomy.
