* Competitive Salary* Great Staff Benefits* Excellent CompanyJob Title: Reliability EngineerLocation: Pulborough Employment Type: Permanent Salary: Apply for details Benefits:* Private Health* Company pension - employer contribution 5* Death in service benefit* Group sickness benefit* A range of family-friendly policies including flexible working.Main objectivesTo apply methods for estimating and improving the likely reliability of new designs during the design phase.Analyse reliability data from both internal and external sources to identify design weaknesses and report/component failure analysis.Key Responsibilities* Involved in the design process and design gate reviews to provide reliability input and oversight* Update and maintain the reliability design guidelines (component derating, thermal design criteria etc.)* Perform statistics-based reliability calculations for new designs (MTBFs, FITs, derating, fault tree analysis) for presentation and review at the design gate reviews and where required to customers* Facilitate and document both design and process FMEAs. Follow up to ensure subsequent actions are implemented* Liaise/ negotiate with customers (both internal and external) and agree ALT plans* Perform field data analysis to identify design weaknesses and report/component failure analysis* Analyse in house SPC data to review and identify any trends* Work with core stakeholders to assess and validate alternative components/processes that improve product reliability* Keeping informed and support EMS and improvement team activities and ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental requirements. Commit to achieving the Company business, quality and environmental objectives and policies* Responsibility for adhering to the Companys ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and Health and safety management systemsSkills, Knowledge and Experience* HND/ HNC or equivalent with relevant experience* Experience of a reliability or verification role along with the ability to analyse and interpret large data sets.* Experience in writing product verification test plans and using FMEA are both also important. Any experience of continuous / process improvement would be an advantage.* Familiarity with the Reliasoft suite of reliability tools* Familiarity with DoE and DFx* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a hands-on approach* Ability to read basic schematics and an understanding of analogue & digital electronic circuits* Knowledge of the electronic test cases and test plans* Proficient in MS Office and associated packages* Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervisionThe above responsibilities are not exhaustive and you may be required to fulfill other duties and responsibilities from time to time for which you are reasonably qualified.
