Job Description

Work as part of the Financial Team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. Maintain financial procedures and user notes. The post-holder will be expected to use computerised financial accounting and housing systems, in additionto spreadsheets to support their work.Client DetailsOur client, a not for profit and charities organisation based in Poole, focus on providing housing across the South West and have an exciting business plan for the next 5 years!They are adding to their finance team, and seek a Purchase Ledger Clerk.DescriptionPurchase Ledger Clerk

  • Processing a high volume of purchase invoices, obtaining relevant authorisation of invoices and processing to Exchequer.
  • Regular reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Processing weekly BACS payments to suppliers.
  • Dealing with queries from suppliers and colleagues via email or phone.
  • Additional duties that may be requested from time to time.
  • Act as a role model in all you do and represent the business professionally and positively in accordance with our behaviours and values.
  • Put the customer at the heart of all that you do.
  • Work with colleagues and managers to deliver against our Business Plans.
  • Familiarise yourself with and work within all company policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in learning opportunities; identify better and more efficient ways of doing things.
  • Be familiar with and fully compliant with all localised safeguarding requirements and the safeguarding policy and protocols.
ProfilePurchase Ledger Clerk:
  • Able to demonstrate that you put the customer at the heart of all you do
  • Able to demonstrate you are an effective team worker (and able to work effectively on your own, if required)
  • Able to make sound decisions
  • IT literate
  • To adhere to and work towards achieving performance against KPIs and(or) service specific outcomes
  • Sets high standards of service for self
  • Innovative and proactive.
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Knowledge of Exchequer finance system or other finance system
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software
  • Experience within a finance department (not essential)
