SIMS Assessment & Data ManagerBlackburn, LancashireContract Type: PermanentSalary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)Hours: 40 Hours per weekWorking weeks: Full YearClosing date for applications: Monday 7 February 2022 at 5:00pmImmediate Start RequiredWestholme School, established in 1923, is a successful independent school located on the rural outskirts of Blackburn, committed to providing the highest quality education. The school is based across 2 sites, providing a first class education to pupils,aged 4 years - 18 years.We are looking to recruit an individual who possesses excellent ICT skills who can design, develop and create templates, reports, data sheets and training materials to assist our Senior Leadership Team to make strategic decisions based upon information provided.You will be able to produce detailed analysis of admissions data, student data which will highlight trends, impact and assessment information and you will be able to present it in easy to understand formats for various groups including staff, students, SeniorLeadership Team.Your IT skills will include an advanced level of knowledge in developing Excel based data management. A working knowledge of SIMS would be a distinct advantage as would knowledge of other programming languages.Part of your role will be to oversee and manage the schools SIMS database information management system and you will work closely with our ICT, Academic and Admin teams to ensure that the system is used to its full potential.SIMS ASSESSMENT & DATA MANAGERJob DescriptionThe post holder will be expected to have the necessary enthusiasm, experience, knowledge and skills to undertake the duties linked to this post.Role Purpose:

  • To be responsible for the production, implementation and maintenance of the school timetable in liaison with the Assistant Headteacher, Teaching and Learning
  • To continually enhance and develop the schools MIS systems
  • To be responsible for the School Census
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain an overview of SIMS modules and how they interact
  • Install SIMS and other software upgrades
  • Liaison with service providers, where required
  • Liaise and assist the Assistant Headteacher in charge of data
  • Liaise with Heads of Faculty to ensure curriculum requirements are met
  • To inform the Network Manager of licensing requirements
  • Liaise with the Network manager to manage and account for all software and hardware
  • To be responsible for the management of Schools assessment, reporting, recording and tracking systems
  • To be responsible for tracking admissions data and statistical data
  • To be responsible for the management and administration of all aspects of external and internal performance data and examinations
  • Take complete ownership of SIMS management, implementation and utilisation across the School
  • To be responsible for producing other data, including the census, statistical data and management reports for the Governing Body and updating and amending internal assessment systems
  • To ensure up-to-date records of results and student progress and attainment are provided on timely basis
  • To ensures SIMS monitoring, timetables are set up within a timely manner and teaching load is at optimum level.
  • To support and assist in the creation of the annual academic timetable
  • Support and assistant the School with timetable changes
