Job Description

Are you a qualified and experienced teaching assistant looking for a new challenge Do you have a passion for supporting student with special educational needs and learning difficultiesIf so, we have an exciting opportunity foryou to join a specialist independent school! The school is a day and boarding school for boys aged 8-18, offering a broad and balanced curriculum that caters for their individual strengths and talents. The school has a friendly and supportive atmosphere, with a strong emphasis on pastoral care andpersonal development. The school also has a range of facilities and resources, including a sports hall, a swimming pool, a forest school, a pottery studio, and a farm.As a higher level teaching assistant, you will work under the guidance of a teacher and the SENCO to plan and deliver lessons, interventions, and activities for pupils with various needs, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, and social and emotionaldifficulties. You will also mentor and keywork vulnerable pupils, provide feedback and assessment, manage behaviour, promote inclusion, and liaise with parents and other professionals.To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs and learning difficulties
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and relevant strategies and approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive and flexible attitude
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
The working hours are 08:30-16:00, Monday to Friday, offering £95 a day, and access to a vehicle will be required due to location.
