Job Description

My client, a leading aviation component repair facility, are looking for an Operations Manager to join the on a permanent basis. The company prides itself on being able to manage all aspects of aviation repair projects, from conception to end product. You will be working for an FAA, EASA and TACCA approved 145 facility and provide effective leadership to a skilled and knowledgeable workforce to deliver maintenance support, minimising costs, and maximising operational efficiency.Role: Operations ManagerPay: CompetitiveLocation: ChichesterDeliverables· Managing the development of the current and future Part 145 capabilities.· Be responsible for development of the marketing strategy, obtaining marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits and setting measurable and attainable sales targets, with the aim of maximising business opportunities.· Develop and evaluate all technical and commercial content of all customer and other third-party contracts.· Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and maintains associated marketing database.· Manage all customer interfaces.· Develop, manage and control operating budgets, taking full responsibility for service pricing, profit, and loss.· Procedure/standards – Provide internal approval of the company MOE, its associated procedures and standards, and any other Company procedures and standards. · Safety Management System – Working knowledge of human factors, error management, risk, and safety management, within Operations, ensuring proactive hazard analysis and mitigation actions are in place for new activities.· Quality Assurance – Ensure the Management Reviews are carried out as directed. · Statutory / Regulatory & Legislation requirements – Able to demonstrate leadership and understanding of the Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory and Health and Safety at Work frameworks· Manage the development and production agreed maintenance interventions, including the technical instructions, resource, and materiel requirements, for all scheduled maintenance events.· Manage the day-to-day Technical Services Engineering interface with Planning, and the Part 145 organisation(s) and third-party suppliers to deliver the required standards of continuing airworthiness and contract delivery.· Ensure that all personnel are aware of and trained on Company procedures.· Ensure that regular training needs analysis is performed for management and other personnel within the Part-145 Organisation· Participate in management reviews to assess progress upon corrective / preventive actions and overall organisational and employees’ performance.· Deploy initiatives that foster trust and people empowerment, thus maximising their team’s performance.· Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities· Manage the personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work Essential Skills and Qualifications · Minimum of 12 years’ experience within a Maintenance & Support environment, with at least 7 years direct experience of supporting or maintaining aircraft or aircraft components, including planning, forecasting, and scheduling. · Minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior manager in a Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation – holding an EASA Form 4 or similar equivalent.· Minimum HND in a relevant engineering discipline, or Part 66 Category B1/B2 qualified, or suitable equivalent.· Strong quantitative, analytical, project management skills and experience, with lean management principles. · Effective, highly credible communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
