Summary Were looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Cook to join our Food & Beverage Team here at Petworth.Salary: £18075 per annumHours: Annualised hours of 1950 over the year.Contract: Permanent This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12equal instalments over the year. What its like to work here Petworth House is an extraordinary and surprisingplace created by just one family over 900 years. The 17th-century building you see today comprises grand state rooms which form the centrepiece of your visit. Designed to display the taste, lifestyle andartistic patronage of generations of Percys, Seymours and Wyndhams, the state rooms offer an expanse of paintings and sculpture, including major works by artists such as Van Dyck, Turner, Reynolds and Gainsborough. A particular highlight is the earliest Englishglobe in existence, dating back to 1592. This remarkable collection reflects a journey of survival and success through the Tudor Reformation, the Gunpowder Plot, the Napoleonic Wars and the consolidation of the British Empire.The landscape surrounding Petworth gives every impression of being totally natural; in reality, nothing is further from the truth. The park and garden were transformed in the 1750s and early 1760s by the landscape architect Lancelot Capability Brown. What youll be doing With your passion for food and your appetite to provide an exceptional service to your customers, youll work with the National Trust Cookbook framework to prepare delicious food. Working with local produce youll always be looking for ways to minimise wasteand control costs and resources. With your attention to detail youll ensure each dish is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time.As a key member of our busy Food & Beverage team, youll make sure the team is working effectively to deliver great results. You may also be required, on occasions to supervise volunteers.Youll help the Food & Beverage team ensure our kitchens are presented to the highest standard and are compliant with all relevant legislation around food hygiene and COSHH.The National Trust ethos will always be at the forefront of your mind, and youll be proud to share our good work with our customers, youll look to maximise sales with new ideas so that the profit can be reinvested back into our conservation work.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
