Job Description

Five Education is looking for HLTAs with experience supporting complex SEN (e.g Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, low functioning Autistic spectrum conditions, etc.) for a role in a special school in Patchway. Thisrole requires candidates to work 5 days a week, between 8:30-3:30; candidates who can work 3 or 4 days a week will also be considered. This role offers a salary of £85-£90 per day (inc holiday pay) dependent on experience. We are looking for someone who is confident working with primary and secondary-aged students with complex needs. You will be supporting students learning of a bespoke curriculum tailored to their individual needs. Responsibilities and Duties: The safeguarding of children Using behavioural management techniques (e.g. those learned in Team Teach or MAPA courses) to keep students calm and maintain a safe working environment Using de-escalation techniques to ensure the pupil is calm and able to access the full range of education on offer. education offered Communicating with other staff and ensuring a consistent response Providing a positive role model for young people Providing feedback and helping with assessments Essential Criteria: Patience, flexibility and dedication You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement. At least 6 months of experience supporting children/vulnerable adults with SEN, ideally PMLD/SLD. A calm demeanour You will be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills Team Teach or THRIVE training would be an advantage but not essential Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent child-based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks Access to a car.
