Job Description

Five Education are working with a nursery in Patchway, this role is due to start immediately. They are looking for a bright, positive and engaging Nursery Teaching Assistant to support toddlers and children up to the age of 5 with EYFS (Early Years FoundationStage) learning.The role involves helping to maintain a safe and secure, tidy, clean and child-friendly environment, as well as actively acting as an inspiring role model for the young children.Responsibilities and duties:

  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
  • Helping the children with their educational and social development in and out of the classroom
  • Using de-escalation techniques to manage any challenging behaviour
  • Supporting toddlers/children with their learning and development
  • Providing personal care for toddlers and young children
  • Helping students who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons
  • Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories
  • Helping to develop social skills
Essential Criteria:
  • Be compassionate, kind and patient
  • Have knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • Knowledge of strategies to help with sensory overload
  • At least 12 months of experience working with children in education or care
  • To maintain and exceed the care standards as monitored by OFSTED
  • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
  • Two recent child/vulnerable adult based references and relevant DBS/Police checks
  • Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes.
  • Able to work 8.30-3.30, 5 days per week term time only
