Job Description

We are now looking for a Manager of Academic and Student Services to join our busy team in Trafford, Manchester!The Manager of Academic and Student Support (MASS) is a critical member of the College team in the administration of the key aspects of the student life cycle.They will support the College Director Principal (CDP) in the implementation and delivery of student experience excellence. Supporting the processes, procedures and delivery of a suite of academic programmes, effective student support provision, supportingthe development of policies, regulations and processes as they relate to the student environment, ensuring each student has the appropriate support services in place, enabling them to perform to the best of their ability.Salary: Up to £36kManager of Academic and Student Services Duties:

  • Manage the development and implementation of an effective and efficient enrolment process.
  • Manage the development and implementation of an effective and enjoyable arrival and induction programme.
  • Manage the development and implementation of robust student finance management processes.
  • Manage the development of the student voice.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of an on-going programme of student-centred events, activities and pastoral support.
  • Manage the management of student records.
  • Manage the development of the college Academic infrastructure.
  • Manage timetabling processes.
  • Manage the management of Academic Tutors
  • Manage college assessment processes.
  • Manage college attendance monitoring processes
  • Manage college compliance processes.
  • Support College Management Team in development of college policy, compliance, and documentation.
Manager of Academic and Student Services Requirements:
  • A team player with a can-do mentality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical with good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Confident with the Microsoft Office suitePowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Degree level qualifications.
  • An effective knowledge of the Higher Education sector and/or university pathway programmes.
  • Experience of managing/working in process driven, administrative, customer focused environment.
  • Experience of working, communicating with and meeting the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing/working in a busy customer orientated environment, including dealing with customers face to face, on the phone and via email.
  • Experience of managing/working with data systems and data management.
  • Resilient in the pursuit of customer service excellence.
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience of working in an international education setting.
  • Ability to communicate in a language other than English.
  • Post Graduate Degree
  • Experience of financial processing and transactions.
  • Experience of delivering front-line customer relationship management to a multicultural client base.Good data analysis and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Home Office Student Route regulations.
