HSS Hire Service Group Ltd is a market-leader in the UK Tool Hire Industry. The company operates a nationwide chain of tool hire centres, ranging in size from small town centre shops to large warehouse units. HSS is a leader in the use of technology to enable digital channels and on-line outcomes.The IT function within HSS operates at a governance level, ensuring, security, standards, stability are maintained within a landscape of constant change and improvement. The Finance systems within HSS are boutique in nature, leveraging the best of breed services with a central finance system maintaining ledgers.Reporting into the IT Head of Project Management. At a strategic level we are looking for a Finance Systems Business Partner to work closely with the Finance function, understand strategic goals and align IT strategies and projects to deliver those goals. At a day to day level, this role will act as the go-to person for Finance, to own the daily relationship to ensure both a smooth flow of BAU and of transition into a new project paradigm. From a RACI point of view, this role would be Accountable for all systems and interactions, leveraging either the IT team or the Finance team Responsibility to get the job done.The Role:• Act as a senior level technical proactive liaison between Technology and Financial departments• Review and document new systems requirements and system amendment requirements, and project manage the delivery. • Production where appropriate of functional and/or technical specifications • Accurate estimation of resource requirements and effort required to deliver technical solutions • Coordination of development work undertaken by other team members • Ownership of IT Financial Controls reporting processes• Ensuring that software components and processes are tested effectively • Change delivery impact analysis and the development of appropriate implementation plans • Production where necessary of system support and user documentation • Direct communication with internal customers, at all levels• Regular contact with external customers, suppliers, and technology partnersWho we are looking for:A candidate for this role will have many of the following attributes: -• A team player who is confident and self-starting, able to work with split teams at different locations.• Must have a financial or accounting background or demonstrable awareness• Familiar with Project Management models and techniques• Experience of the software project lifecycle • Able to clearly articulate system requirements and designs both orally and in written documentation • Willing to adopt and champion best practice• Ability to provide technical/design guidance and ideas to technical colleagues• Commercial / technical experience of some of the following systems:o Advanced, Open Accounts, Rimilia Alloc8, MRI - Asset 4000o Oracle OBIE, EssbaseAt HSS, we prioritise inclusivity and diversity.
