Job Description

My client based close to Royston is looking for a dynamic experienced Business Development Manager to join a very successful team. This is a part time, permanent position and you will be working for a delightful family run business who support their staff in all areas and are very keen on development within your role and company. The company offers a great basic salary dependant on experience and excellent career opportunities. You will need a car due to the nature of the location.As Business Development Manager you will need to perform the following duties:

  • Follow-up leads and initial enquiries tenaciously over the phone until the prospect declares an interest in what we can offer or until it is determined that the prospect has no use for our services either now or in the next 12 months
  • Liaise with customer facing team members to follow-up any clues or news that they hear to try to gain enough information to turn them into leads that can be developed into enquiries
  • Use phone and our database to generate new leads for the supplies department and provide relevant information to the supplies sales team to generate new business
  • Maintaining and updating customer databases using sales force CRM
  • Conducting market research if required
  • Monitoring and reporting on competitor activity
  • Attending exhibitions and events, this will sometimes require extended and inconvenient hours however at maximum it will be once every three months and it should be possible to give quite a bit of notice. All expenses will be paid
  • To carry out courtesy calls to our best customers, every 3 months, asking if they have any work in the pipeline or know anyone that does
  • Develop relationships with key industry suppliers and figures and keep in touch with them to maximize the number of customer referrals we receive
  • To keep watch on government building planning portals in our area and once a warm lead is found to plan and implement a targeted campaign to get make contact with the dentist
  • Book CPD (continuous professional development) training courses for a senior engineer at new customers. This is a free 1 hour session designed to develop relationships with potential customers
  • Take responsibility for business development which includes taking names of dentists who may possibly be planning a refurbishment, researching them and then doing what is required to make contact with them and try to take it to the next stage. This may take the form of making cold phone calls, sending personalised emails or letters
