Job Description

Summary This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Property Leadership Team at Nostell, leading and delivering a quality visitor experience and visitor operation across the site. Youll collaborate with your Property Leadership Team colleagues to ensurewe tell Nostell’s stories in an inclusive, diverse and creative ways. You’ll be an experienced People Manager, able to demonstrate strategic planning and budget control, championing audience voice and leading for a strong customer service culture.For a qualifying person, a relocation package may be offered.Face to face interviews: Monday 31st JulyHours: 37.5 hours per week which will include weekends and bank holidays.Rotas are issued in advance and well always try to accommodate other commitments where possible.Contract: Fixed term until October 2025We would consider this role on a secondment basis for an internal candidate. It is beautiful inside and out; the house and collection being designated as one of the National Trusts Treasure Houses, and the peaceful gardens and parkland offering a welcome breakfrom the busy-ness of everyday life.The property is situated a short distance from bustling Wakefield, meaning the property offers a rare opportunity to work in the country, but live in the city.The ambitious team is focused on making Nostell one of Yorkshire’s most high profile visitor attractions and we are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, creative, and inclusive person who will bring ideas and energy to the property leadership team.Nostell sits within a cluster of properties which includes West Yorkshire, so occasional travel to East Riddlesden Hall, Hardcastle Crags and Marsden Moor will also be required.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Working with Property Leadership Team colleagues, youll collaborate in making sure Nostell offers the best visitor welcome and experience. Youll lead your team to work with partners, enabling them to provide engagement opportunities for audiences of visitors,volunteers or community participants. Youll champion access, inclusivity and diversity. Youll use your experience to draw on audience research, data and trends to inform visitor programming, experience and operations - and youll make things happen positivelyfor the benefit of Nostell, its visitors, volunteers, community and staff.Your experience of working with volunteers will enable you to understand the approaches needed to reward, recognise and motivate them.Reporting to the General Manager, youll play your part in delivering Nostells Business Plan - including strategic design and budget planning and delivery.   • A dynamic, pragmatic, and energetic leader with a proven track-record in visitor operations
  • An experienced and effective line manager
  • A great coach and mentor with high standards of performance
  • Well-organised, able to balance competing priorities
  • Adept at operational management including budgets, rotas, and planning
  • A confident and calm presence, supporting the team across the property
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement to develop partnerships.
