Job Description

Community Liaison Officer, 12 month fixed-term contractCopper Consultancy was established to build understanding and enable engagement around the world of infrastructure and development. Were a full-service communications consultancy tackling some of the UKs biggest challenges, including the UKs drive towards net zero.Were looking for a Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to work on a 12 month fixed-term basis for the Hornsea Project Three Offshore Wind Farm.As the CLO, you will act as an interface between the local community and the Hornsea Project. This role will be an external facing role, acting as the first point of contact on behalf of the project within the local community.Youll have a keen interest in and deep understanding of community relations, with a passion for building and maintaining meaningful relationships with communities.Key responsibilities:

  • Management and logging of stakeholder enquiries and corresponding actions
  • Community relations activity, including preparing notifications about construction activities, promoting the projects involvement in community events and the organisation of, attendance of and participation at community meetings
  • Working with stakeholders from the project team (onsite) to stay up-to-date with upcoming activity that will impact the community and building relationships with CLOs working on other projects to collaborate and share best practice where appropriate
  • Coordinating and preparing community engagement materials for print and online, including management of the approval process
  • Carrying out ad hoc administrative tasks for the project team
  • Working in line with company and project team values
Skills, knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience in a similar position
  • Excellent knowledge of the local area
  • Proven record of managing client, stakeholder and media relationships using stakeholder engagement strategies and approaches
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and effective interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, colleagues, key partners and local communities
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines whilst showing attention to detail
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and confident attitude; a pro-active member of the team
  • Excellent English, both written and verbal, with great writing skills to deal with queries and concerns as well as marketing material such as newsletters, social media and blogs
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to talk in detail about the construction activities with local representatives and groups
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the Norfolk region & to London, if required
