Job Description

Eden Farm Hulleys, part of the Kitwave Wholesale Group, is a nationwide distributor of frozen food, chilled produce, and ice cream. From our network of depots throughout the UK we supply all major market brands as well as our own brands and we are on thesearch for a Transport Supervisor to growing Transport team.Our customer base ranges from small corner shops to the larger cash and carry outlets, through to high street names such as Holland & Barrett and Sainsburys. The company continues to grow year on year, taking on new business and is looking towards new venturesand markets. Peterlee is home to our Head Office central to the operation housing the Finance, HR, Telesales, Transport Planning and Commercial teams.Main purpose of roleThe main purpose of the role is to ensure that all outbound vehicle deliveries are loaded correctly as per load manifest and safely in accordance with DVSA regulations.

  • Vehicle maintenance and upkeep of fleet.
  • Occasional Paragon planning - Replanning Duties
  • Supervision of driving staff as first point of contact (Night shift) and offer instruction as required.
  • Operational tasks as instructed by the site TM
  • Pre Brief of day shift drivers (5am)
  • Co ordinate and utilise trunking operations
  • General admin duties - Holiday planning, Driver hours (Tachomaster),Holiday/Sickness administration
Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Provide a start of day brief to driving staff. First point of contact.
  • Liaise with the Companys operation support team to ensure the efficient planning of customer deliveries and utilisation of delivery vehicles and drivers.(replanning)
  • Communicate and work with the central team providing feedback to improve route planning and efficient operations.
  • Inspect, identify and report vehicle defects to ensure staff welfare and compliance with health & safety requirements.
  • Vehicle maintenance administration
  • Agency driver checks/Inductions
  • Vehicle defect control.
  • Promote Health and Safety
  • Ensure all company procedures are adhered to
  • Tachomaster Administration
  • Ensure all trunks leave OTIF
  • Telematics and CCTV Management
  • Breakdown coordinator - Nights
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to address any potential loading issues
  • Trailer utilisation for trunking vehicles
Knowledge, skills & experience required
  • Good communications skills and computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills Written/verbal
  • Confident communicator
  • Organisational skills
  • Able to work alone
Hours of work
  • The standard working week is 42 hours
  • The role requires attendance from 04:00/05:00am onwards. Hours of work may be altered from time to time in order to meet business needs of the company
