The Recruitment Co are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work for a leading manufacturer of sweet products based in the High Peak area.Overview:A member of a team of Maintenance Engineers that ensures proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns on the New Mills Site.Supporting the Operations team to achieve compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime, increasing availability, performance, and efficiency of the existing assets through continuous improvement techniques.Providing effective, efficient, timely response to plant breakdowns & ensuring planned maintenance is completed on time and in full as per the site PPM requirements.Responsibilities & Duties:* Maintain a clean, safe & organised working environment* Always demonstrate safe behaviour and conform to all safe systems of work* Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standards* Provide 24 hour/7 day cover to Jellies production department* Ensure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirements* Support a culture that enhances awareness to reduce accidents and near misses* Responsible for PPM completion, updating and providing feedback for improving the plannedmaintenance system* Action any emergency breakdowns and ensure that all measures taken are recorded on CMMS(Shire)* Overhaul of machinery & sub-assemblies* Marking out & manufacture of machine parts as required* Participate in electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance to the best of yourcapability* To communicate and escalate accordingly when assistance is required* Updating of plant parameters/set points etc. as per site SOPs.* Ensure that plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high qualitystandards.* To liaise, assist with training and support other departments in general running of the factory.* Undertake the training of others as required for development and regulatory requirements* Identify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this.* Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiencyand waste reduction.* Participate in Continuous Improvement teams as required* Communicate daily with Team Leaders & Managers to ensure planned maintenance;engineering and production priorities are understood.* Communicate as required with Engineering StoresWorking on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift system of 5:45am - 5:45pm / 5:45pm-5:45amGrade and pay rate are contractually reviewed on completion of probation.38 hours a weekCompany benefits are bonus scheme, pension, paid holidays, sick pay scheme, staff shop and subsidised canteen.Key Skills Required For The Role:To demonstrate the company values dailybe punctual and reliableComputer literate and able to use Microsoft OfficeGood written and verbal communication skillsGood organisational skillsGood work ethicGood fault finding & problem solving skillsHave an open learning minded Ability to work alone and as part of a teamRational, logical, detailed & uses a risk based approach to decision makingWill challenge the status quo to drive continuous improvementThe salary is £45,500 per annumThe Recruitment Co are an equal opportunities employerCPManchesterGSThe Recruitment Co. is an equal opportunities employer and were committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
